Nope, no sirree, that’s what happens when your oven is waaaay too hot, or alternatively you leave the dish in for waaaaaay too long! 🙂 It should have been in at 180deg (Gas4) for around 25-30 mins.

Ha ha, you mean you can actually select which temperature you use? Not just turn it up to the top?

Yes it probably was too hot, but I was kind of expecting the scanty amount of mash was going to let me down anyway…. 😦

Your blog makes me so happy lol. Have you tried pasta carbonara yet? It’s exhausting to make, but you just can’t go wrong with bacon.

Hi AnneMarie thanks so much for your comment and for reading the blog! Great to hear from you.
I’m not good with pasta https://alicecantcook.com/tag/pasta/

BUT I LOVE Carbonara, really love it. If I cook it myself I might ruin it and get put off forever….

      Thanks again xxx

Yes you can’t go wrong with bacon but carbonara is really really hard.

I’m not going to try it! But I’d love it. Love to cook it properly… 🙂

Can you help Alice?
