Tomato Battlefield

Atten-shun… What is going on here?
These are not roasted tomatoes. They’ve actually exploded.
See how they have all uniformly popped apart.

Like Major Tomato did the ‘special signal’ and all the Private Tomatoes went “that’s it lads, it’s time, we’re beat“.

That liquid? That is not even oil, that is innards. Tomato innards.
They’re all even wearing little green caps.

    Sigh. You forgot to prick them didn’t you Alice?! Use a skewer to make little holes in them before putting them in the oven, then the excess steam escapes and they don’t explode. Like Sweet Chesnuts… But I bet these tasted good if you cut out the charred bits;-}

    But I didn’t know you had to prick them.
    Do you have to prick them? How do you know that?
    How do people just know these things?
